Bishop’s Missionaries

Interested in becoming a Bishop’s Missionary?

Please contact Renee Abel,  Interim Diocesan Administrator (901-937-4700) or email.

Bishop Missionaries have for some time been those who contribute annually to a particular emphasis or focus for Diocesan missional efforts specifically chosen by Bishop Johnson.

Bishop Johnson has broadened the focus to include Congregational Development, with an eye to developing new and exciting Diocesan opportunities.  In years past, the Diocese used all of the funds contributed by the Bishop’s Missionaries to supplement support of diocesan seminarians and the three newly ordained curates and interns.

In addition, an emphasis on sustaining particular ministries focused on young adults, including university and college students, has been under study and implementation in the Diocese of West TN.  Building relationships and equipping individuals for gracious leadership are but two aspects of the implementation.

All of these initiatives are in addition to the already significant work of all of the parishes that comprise The Episcopal Diocese of West Tennessee where I encourage you to make an annual pledge as well.

All contributions in any amount will be gratefully accepted.   Please consider making a pledge at the Sustaining Member level of $500 – $999 or at the Partner in Mission level of $1000 and above.

If you would like to make a contribution and become a Bishop’s Missionary, please mail your check to Bishop’s Missionary, c/o The Rt. Rev. Don Johnson, 692 Poplar Ave. Memphis TN 38105 and please specify Bishop’s Missionary on your check.  If you would prefer to complete a Commitment Card for periodic payments during the current year, please call 901-937-4700 or email Diocese@episwtn.org and ask Renee Abel to drop you a card in the mail.
