Five Germantown congregations – Germantown United Methodist, Germantown Presbyterian, New Bethel Baptist, Kingsway Christian, and St. George’s Episcopal Churches – share an annual day of community service which we call Labor of Love. Held each year on Labor Day, Labor of Love allows our congregations to partner with MIFA and Memphis Feeds Initiative to serve the greater community. In 2016, we delivered 140 meals to MIFA senior clients, cleaned yards for six MIFA senior clients who needed assistance (with leadership from Youth Leadership of Memphis!), filled 1,000 bags of personal care and infant items for MIFA’s Emergency Services, and packaged 9,990 meals for MidSouth Food Bank through Memphis Feeds Initiative. We’re looking forward to another great day of service in our community on September 4, 2017, as Labor of Love approaches its fourth year!
