Tenebrae: A Service of Darkness

March 26 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

The service of Tenebrae as we presently observe it is a conspectus of elements drawn from the ancient monastic night offices for the days of Holy Week. The name Tenebrae derives from the immensely expressive symbolism with which, for many centuries now, this service has been adorned. Music for this evening was composed by Healey Willan, Cristobal de Morales, Anton Bruckner, Henry Purcell, and Paul Manz.
